Prayer

Prayer should be at the heart of everything we do. John Wesley himself said, “God will do nothing but in answer to prayer. Whether we think of, or speak to, God, whether we act or suffer for him, all is prayer, when we have no other object than his love, and the desire of pleasing him. Proceed with much prayer, and your way will be made plain.”
Jesus taught his disciples to use the Lord’s Prayer—Find it below in the traditional or the modern format.

Traditional

Our Father who art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not in to temptation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the Kingdom
The power and the glory
For ever and ever
Amen

Modern

Our Father in Heaven
Hallowed be your name
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us
Lead us not in to temptation
But deliver us from evil
For the Kingdom, the power and the glory are yours
Now and for ever
Amen
